Connect guide

How to connect Smartlane to your store

To connect Smartlane you need one thing: the API token Smartlane issues for your account. It is not the login you use on Smartlane's portal. If you do not have one, ask your Smartlane account manager or write to smartlanetech@smartlane.pk. ShipOps checks it with Smartlane before saving it and shows the shipper name it belongs to.

What you need

one thing
API token A long string of letters and numbers that Smartlane's team sends you. Ask your Smartlane account manager for API access, or write to smartlanetech@smartlane.pk.

Don't have it yet?

Ask your Smartlane account manager. You can send them this: "Please share the API token for my Smartlane account so I can connect it to ShipOps."

Your portal username and password will not work here. The form needs the API token Smartlane issues for apps.

Connecting it in ShipOps

  1. Install ShipOps from the Shopify App Store, or open it if you already have it. On your first visit ShipOps asks you to connect a courier; later, it lives under Settings → Couriers & store.
  2. Choose Smartlane and fill in API token.
  3. Press Connect Smartlane. ShipOps checks the details with Smartlane before it saves them, so a typo shows up straight away, not a day later. When it works you see Saved — credentials confirmed.
  4. That's it. Your Smartlane parcels load in the background, so there is nothing to wait for. They appear in your inbox as they arrive.

ShipOps stores your Smartlane details encrypted and uses them only to read your own account and to do what you ask from the app: a booking, a label, a retry or return. Your rates and your contract with Smartlane stay exactly as they are, and the COD cash still goes from Smartlane straight to your bank.

ShipOps shows the shipper name on the Smartlane account, so you can see it is yours.

Smartlane is marked In testing in ShipOps while it runs on its first stores; tell us if a status looks wrong.

If Smartlane won't connect

ShipOps says Smartlane did not accept my API token.

Paste it again exactly as Smartlane sent it, with no spaces before or after. If you copied "Bearer" in front of it, that is fine. If it still fails, ask Smartlane for a new token.

I connected but some of my Smartlane parcels are not showing.

ShipOps finds Smartlane parcels from the tracking numbers on your store's orders. A parcel whose order has no tracking number is not found until Smartlane writes the number to the order.

My Smartlane parcels show up under TCS or Leopards.

That happens when the TCS or Leopards account is connected too and the order names that courier. Smartlane's own app writes "Smartlane" on the order, and those parcels go to Smartlane.
