How to connect Leopards to your store
You need two things from your Leopards portal, both under API Settings → API Management: an API key, which you generate there, and an API password, which you choose there. Neither is the login you use for the portal. Paste both into ShipOps, which checks them with Leopards before saving.
What you need
2 things| API key | Generate it in the Leopards portal under API Settings → API Management. This is the code that lets an app like ShipOps read your Leopards account. |
|---|---|
| API password | The API password you chose in API Management, next to the key. It is not the password you sign in to the Leopards portal with. |
Where to find it in Leopards' portal
- Sign in to your Leopards portal.
- Open API Settings, then API Management.
- Generate an API key and copy it into API key in ShipOps.
- Set an API password on the same page and type it into API password.
Don't have it yet?
If you do not see API Settings in your Leopards portal, API access is not switched on for your account yet. Ask your Leopards account manager for it.
You can send: "Please enable API access on my Leopards account so I can generate an API key."
Connecting it in ShipOps
- Install ShipOps from the Shopify App Store, or open it if you already have it. On your first visit ShipOps asks you to connect a courier; later, it lives under Settings → Couriers & store.
- Choose Leopards and fill in API key and API password.
- Press Connect Leopards. ShipOps checks the details with Leopards before it saves them, so a typo shows up straight away, not a day later. When it works you see Saved — credentials confirmed.
- That's it. Your Leopards parcels load in the background, so there is nothing to wait for. They appear in your inbox as they arrive.
ShipOps stores your Leopards details encrypted and uses them only to read your own account and to do what you ask from the app: a booking, a label, a retry or return. Your rates and your contract with Leopards stay exactly as they are, and the COD cash still goes from Leopards straight to your bank.
One Leopards key can cover several businesses on the same account. If yours does, ShipOps lists them in Settings and suggests which are yours, based on your store's orders and your bookings. You confirm. Parcels under a business you hide stay out of every list, message and money figure, and come back if you show it again.
If Leopards won't connect
ShipOps says Leopards rejected my credentials: Invalid API Key
The key was not copied in full, or it is not from API Management. Copy it again from API Settings → API Management in the Leopards portal, with no spaces before or after.
ShipOps says Invalid API Password, or API Password is required
Use the API password you set in API Management, not your portal login. Type it into the API password box; the key alone is not enough.
It connected but shows zero parcels
If nothing has been booked under this key yet, zero is correct. Leopards lists a parcel from the moment it is booked, so once you book, it shows up.
ShipOps shows parcels that are not my store's
Your key covers more than one business on your Leopards account. In Settings, hide the businesses that are not yours. Their parcels leave every list and every money figure.
