Connect guide

How to connect Rocket Courier to your store

To connect Rocket Courier you need two things that Rocket issues together: your Client ID and your API token. They are not the login you use on Rocket's portal. If you don't have them, ask your Rocket Courier account manager for API access. ShipOps checks the pair with Rocket before saving it.

What you need

2 things
Client ID The Client ID Rocket Courier issued for your account. Rocket's admin team provides it, so ask your Rocket Courier account manager if you don't have one.
API token The API token Rocket Courier issued with your Client ID. The two belong together: a token only works with the Client ID it was issued with.

Don't have it yet?

Ask your Rocket Courier account manager. You can send them this: "Please enable API access for my Rocket Courier account and share my Client ID and API token."

Your portal username and password will not work here. The form needs the Client ID and API token Rocket issues for apps.

Connecting it in ShipOps

  1. Install ShipOps from the Shopify App Store, or open it if you already have it. On your first visit ShipOps asks you to connect a courier; later, it lives under Settings → Couriers & store.
  2. Choose Rocket Courier and fill in Client ID and API token.
  3. Press Connect Rocket Courier. ShipOps checks the details with Rocket Courier before it saves them, so a typo shows up straight away, not a day later. When it works you see Saved — credentials confirmed.
  4. That's it. Your Rocket Courier parcels load in the background, so there is nothing to wait for. They appear in your inbox as they arrive.

ShipOps stores your Rocket Courier details encrypted and uses them only to read your own account and to do what you ask from the app: a booking, a label, a retry or return. Your rates and your contract with Rocket Courier stay exactly as they are, and the COD cash still goes from Rocket Courier straight to your bank.

Rocket Courier is marked In testing in ShipOps while it runs on its first stores; tell us if a status looks wrong.

If Rocket Courier won't connect

ShipOps says Rocket Courier rejected my Client ID and token.

Paste both again exactly as Rocket issued them, with no spaces before or after, and check the token is the one sent with that Client ID. If it still fails, ask your Rocket Courier account manager for a new pair.

I entered my Rocket portal login and it didn't work.

The portal login is not what ShipOps asks for. You need the Client ID and API token Rocket issues for apps. Ask your account manager for them.

I connected but some of my Rocket parcels are not showing.

ShipOps finds Rocket parcels from the tracking numbers on your store's orders and from parcels you book in ShipOps. A parcel whose order has no tracking number is not found until you add the number to the order.
