How to connect TCS to your store
You need four things from TCS: the API token from the ENVIO portal (Get Bearer Token, in the menu under your name), the username and password you already sign in to ENVIO with, and your account ID, the Account Number on your ENVIO profile. ShipOps checks all four with TCS before saving them.
What you need
4 things| API token | The token TCS issued with your API access. In the ENVIO portal, open the menu under your name, top right, and choose Get Bearer Token. Copy the whole code it shows. Looks like: a very long code starting eyJ |
|---|---|
| API username | The same username you use to sign in to the TCS ENVIO portal. This one is your portal login; TCS does not issue a separate API username. |
| API password | The same password you use to sign in to the TCS ENVIO portal. |
| Account ID | The numeric account ID TCS shared when your account was created. TCS also calls it the customer number. In ENVIO it is the Account Number in the table under Profile, on the same menu under your name. Looks like: a number only, usually six digits, with no letters |
Where to find it in TCS's portal
- Sign in to the TCS ENVIO portal (connect.tcscourier.com) with your usual TCS username and password. Those same two go in API username and API password.
- Open the menu under your name, top right, and choose Get Bearer Token. Copy the long code it shows into API token.
- On the same menu choose Profile. The Account Number in that table is your Account ID.
Don't have it yet?
If Get Bearer Token is missing from the menu under your name, API access is not switched on for your TCS account yet. Ask TCS to enable it.
You can send: "Please enable API access on my TCS ENVIO account so I can connect it to my store."
If you do not have an ENVIO login at all, or cannot find your account number, ask your TCS account manager for both.
Connecting it in ShipOps
- Install ShipOps from the Shopify App Store, or open it if you already have it. On your first visit ShipOps asks you to connect a courier; later, it lives under Settings → Couriers & store.
- Choose TCS and fill in API token, API username, API password and Account ID.
- Press Connect TCS. ShipOps checks the details with TCS before it saves them, so a typo shows up straight away, not a day later. When it works you see Saved — credentials confirmed.
- Under Cost center, press Choose…, pick the one your parcels ship from, and press Save. ShipOps loads the list from your TCS account. This is what bookings and labels are made under; you can skip it if you only want tracking.
- That's it. Your TCS parcels load in the background, so there is nothing to wait for. They appear in your inbox as they arrive.
ShipOps stores your TCS details encrypted and uses them only to read your own account and to do what you ask from the app: a booking, a label, a retry or return. Your rates and your contract with TCS stay exactly as they are, and the COD cash still goes from TCS straight to your bank.
If your TCS account has more than one cost center, one per brand or pickup point, pick the one your bookings should use. It prints on the label and sets the return address. TCS pays one combined amount for the whole account, so ShipOps matches each payment to its parcel by tracking number.
Connecting changes nothing in your store. Writing back to your store, marking orders delivered and cancelling returns, stays off until you switch it on.
If TCS won't connect
ShipOps says TCS rejected my details
Copy the token again from Get Bearer Token: all of it, starting eyJ, with no spaces. Then type your username and password exactly as you sign in to ENVIO. If you changed your ENVIO password recently, use the new one.
Is the API username different from my ENVIO login?
No. The API username and API password are the same ones you sign in to ENVIO with. Only the API token is a separate code.
ShipOps says no cost centers were found on my account
Your login works, but the Account ID did not match a cost center. Check that you used the numeric Account Number from your ENVIO profile. If it is right, ask TCS to set up a cost center on your account. Tracking still works in the meantime.
I have a letter-style TCS account code. Is that my account ID?
No. The account ID is the numeric one, the Account Number under Profile in ENVIO. TCS also calls it your customer number.
I connected but my TCS parcels have not appeared
TCS does not list parcels that are still on the way, so ShipOps finds them from your store's fulfilments. Fulfil each order with its TCS tracking number and the parcel appears in ShipOps.
