TCS
ShipOps connects to your TCS COD account through the same credentials you use for the ENVIO portal. It follows every TCS parcel, reads TCS's two-letter status codes into plain words, catches the partial-delivery codes that corrupt COD maths, and reconciles TCS's weekly running account, carry-forward and all.
TCS is the oldest courier in this list and the one whose API shows it: a bearer token plus a username and password, a numeric account id, a cost center per brand, and roughly sixty status codes, two letters each, some of which TCS itself spells two ways. It is also the courier whose COD money is hardest to follow, because TCS does not pay per parcel or per receipt but keeps a weekly running account.
ShipOps reads all of it. Parcels are found from the tracking numbers on your store's fulfilments, because TCS's payment plane is blind to a parcel until it is delivered, then followed on TCS's tracking API. Statuses are keyed by code, so WA Wronge Address (TCS's spelling) and BA Bad Address both become an address problem your team can act on.
This page is written from TCS's ENVIO API documents, from its own invoice detail reports, and from months of TCS trails and payouts ShipOps has reconciled for a production account. The money section is the part that took longest to get right.
What ShipOps does with TCS
| Live tracking | Yes. ShipOps finds your TCS parcels from the tracking numbers on your store's fulfilments and follows each one with TCS's API. |
|---|---|
| Retry / return instruction | TCS accepts a retry or return instruction only while a parcel is in its review window. ShipOps watches for that window and alarms it, so the instruction goes in while it can still change the outcome. |
| Booking and labels | Yes. Book from the order, print the label, cancel a booking. Services: Overnight. Label layouts: 3 labels per page, One label per page, 6x4 sticker label, Shipper's copy. |
| COD payouts | Automatic. ShipOps reads TCS's payout receipts from its API on a schedule and checks every parcel on them. How TCS pays COD, in detail → |
| What you type to connect | API token · API username · API password · Account ID Then pick your cost center. |
| Recognised as | tcs · tcs courier · tcs express |
| Delivery attempts | TCS tries 3 times before it starts a return. ShipOps counts the attempts on the trail and shows how many are left. |
Connecting TCS
TCS gives a merchant four things: an API bearer token (a long code beginning eyJ), the username and password you sign in to the ENVIO portal with, and your account id, which TCS also calls the customer number. ShipOps asks for all four once, checks them against TCS, and stores them encrypted.
If your TCS account has more than one cost center (one per brand or pickup identity), you pick the one bookings should run under. It prints on the label and sets the return address. TCS enumerates payments by account, not by cost center, so a multi-brand account's payouts arrive together and ShipOps keeps them straight by tracking number.
Nothing is written to your store at connection. The first import reads your fulfilments, asks TCS about each tracking number, and lands the trails in your inbox. Write-backs (mark delivered, cancel and restock a return) are switches you turn on later, per courier.
What TCS's statuses mean
15 phrases, read the way the app reads them| What TCS prints | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| BT Booked · LC Label created | Booked | Booked, not yet collected. Chase the pickup if it sits more than a day. |
| PO Picked up · ATF / DTF / AIF / DIO … arrival and departure scans | In transit | Inside TCS's network. The many two-letter scan codes all mean the same thing to you: moving. |
| OD Out for delivery | In transit | With the rider. A status text to the customer helps the first attempt land. |
| HN Consignee not home · CN Receiver not available · RC Premises closed | Attempt failed | A failed visit with the customer absent. TCS will try again; reach the customer so the next visit is answered. |
| NM No response on mobile · NR No response on phone | Attempt failed | The rider could not reach the customer. WhatsApp usually works where a call did not. |
| DR Delivery rescheduled · ND Scheduled for next delivery cycle | Attempt failed | TCS has moved the attempt. Nothing to file; confirm the customer will be in. |
| RD Refused to accept | Needs your decision | The customer refused at the door. Decide: return it, or talk the customer round and ask TCS to retry. |
| BA / BD Bad address · WA Wronge address · IA Incomplete address · UL Unable to locate · CA Address closed | Needs your decision | An address problem. Get a landmark or a corrected address from the customer and send it to TCS with the retry. |
| MO Mobile switched off · WM Wrong mobile number · NT No telephone number · AN Awaiting correct number | Needs your decision | A phone problem. Fix the number from your order or the customer's WhatsApp, then retry. |
| HF Hold for collection · SC Held for self collection · HP Held for payment | Needs your decision | TCS is holding the parcel for the customer to collect or pay. Tell the customer where, and by when. |
| POK Partial piece delivered · PD Partial delivery | Needs your decision | Part of a multi-piece shipment delivered. ShipOps never reads this as Delivered, because the COD on the invoice will not match the order. |
| RO Returned to origin | Coming back | Coming back. Plan for the return and decide whether to rebook. |
| RS Returned to sender | Returned to you | Back with you. Check it in so the order can be cancelled and restocked if you have that on. |
| OK Delivered · DH / DE / DC / TP delivered variants | Delivered | Done. The COD will appear on the invoice for the week of delivery; the freight was already charged in the booking week. |
| CL Cancelled | Cancelled | Cancelled before pickup. |
Why a TCS delivery fails, as ShipOps names it
| Courier-side | Status Has Been Incorrectly Updated · SCHEDULED FOR NEXT DELIVERY CYCLE · On Hold · Temporary On Hold at TCS Facility · STOP DELIVERY · Shipment Stop · Please Contact TCS · Contact TCS Local Customer Services · Contact TCS Local Customer Services · Short Received · Shipment Partially Received |
|---|---|
| Customer not available | Consignee not home · Receiver Not Available · Receivers premises closed |
| Phone problem | No Response on mobile · No Response on phone · Mobile Switched Off · Wrong Mobile Number · No Telephone Number · Wrong Land Phone Number · Awaiting Correct Number |
| Other | Delivery Rescheduled · Partial Piece Delivered · Partial delivery |
| Customer refused | Refused to accept |
| Address problem | Bad Address · BAD ADDRESS · Wronge Address · INCOMPLETE ADDRESS · Unable To Locate Delivery Address · Address Closed · Need Further Consignee Information · Receiver Shifted From Delivery Address · Consignee Shifted · Out of delivery Area · OUT OF SERVICE AREA |
| Held | HOLD FOR COLLECTION · Held for Self Collection · Held for Payment |
| Lost or damaged | Shipment Damaged · Prohibited Item · Lost shipment · Abandon Shipments |
These are the reasons TCS gives on a failed visit, normalised to one label each so your team sees "Customer not available", never the raw string. The family decides what the Action Inbox suggests: an address problem asks the customer for a landmark, a phone problem tries WhatsApp, a refusal asks whether to return.
Questions merchants ask about TCS
Which TCS credentials does ShipOps need?
The API bearer token TCS issued you, your ENVIO username and password, and your account id (customer number). The same things you use to sign in to ENVIO, typed once and stored encrypted.
Why does ShipOps find TCS parcels from my store rather than from TCS?
TCS's payment plane only knows a parcel once it is delivered, so it cannot list what is in transit. Your store's fulfilments carry the tracking numbers from day one; ShipOps reads those and asks TCS's tracking API about each.
When can I tell TCS to retry or return?
While the parcel is in a review code: a refusal, an address or phone problem, a hold. ShipOps shows the retry and return buttons on those parcels and files the instruction on your account.
What happens with a TCS partial delivery?
POK and PD are parked for your review, never read as delivered. The COD TCS will pay for them is less than the order, and marking the order paid would hide that.
Can I book TCS parcels and print labels from ShipOps?
Yes, under the cost center you choose, at your rates. Booking, labels and cancellation all run on your TCS account.
