How to connect Trax to your store
You need one thing: your Trax API key, the code that lets an app like ShipOps read your Trax account. It is in Sonic, Trax's merchant portal at sonic.pk: sign in, click your company name, open Profile, and copy the API Key at the bottom. It is not your Sonic password. Then pick your pickup address in ShipOps.
What you need
one thing| API key | In the Sonic portal (sonic.pk): click your company name at the top right, then Profile, then copy the API Key row at the bottom. Sonic is Trax's portal, so this is the same account you book your Trax parcels from. The key is a separate code, not the password you sign in with. |

Where to find it in Trax's portal
- Sign in to the Sonic portal at sonic.pk with your Trax account.
- Click your company name at the top right of the screen.
- Choose Profile.
- Find the API Key row at the bottom and copy the key, all of it.
Don't have it yet?
The key sits on your Profile screen in Sonic. If you cannot sign in to Sonic, or the API Key row is not there, ask your Trax account manager. You can send: "Please enable API access for my Sonic account and share my API key."
Connecting it in ShipOps
- Install ShipOps from the Shopify App Store, or open it if you already have it. On your first visit ShipOps asks you to connect a courier; later, it lives under Settings → Couriers & store.
- Choose Trax and fill in API key.
- Press Connect Trax. ShipOps checks the details with Trax before it saves them, so a typo shows up straight away, not a day later. When it works you see Saved — credentials confirmed.
- Under Pickup address, press Choose…, pick the one your parcels ship from, and press Save. ShipOps loads the list from your Trax account. This is what bookings and labels are made under; you can skip it if you only want tracking.
- That's it. Your Trax parcels load in the background, so there is nothing to wait for. They appear in your inbox as they arrive.
ShipOps stores your Trax details encrypted and uses them only to read your own account and to do what you ask from the app: a booking, a label, a retry or return. Your rates and your contract with Trax stay exactly as they are, and the COD cash still goes from Trax straight to your bank.
Trax books every parcel from one of the pickup addresses on your Sonic account, so ShipOps asks you to pick one. If your account has none yet, add one in the Sonic portal and connect again. Tracking works without it.
Once you are connected, ShipOps shows the contact name and city of your default Sonic pickup address. Check it, so you know you connected the right Trax account.
If Trax won't connect
ShipOps says Trax rejected my API key
Trax did not accept the key. Copy it again from Sonic: your company name, then Profile, then API Key. Take all of it, with no space at either end, and connect again.
ShipOps says my Trax account has no pickup addresses
The key worked, but your Sonic account has no pickup address yet. Add one in the Sonic portal, then connect again in ShipOps. You need it to book; tracking works without it.
I connected but no parcels showed up
Trax cannot hand ShipOps a list of your parcels. ShipOps finds them from the Trax tracking numbers on your store's orders, and from parcels you book in ShipOps. An order fulfilled without a Trax tracking number gives ShipOps nothing to follow.
How do I know I connected the right Trax account?
After connecting, ShipOps shows the contact name and city of your default Sonic pickup address. If that is not your business, you pasted the key from another account. Copy the key from the right Sonic login and connect again.
