Trax
ShipOps connects to your Trax account with the API key from the Sonic portal. It follows every parcel, reads Trax's free-text statuses into plain words (including replacements and the return-confirmation window), and reconciles Trax's weekly payment batches parcel by parcel, with the 2% withholding and 2% sales tax shown separately.
Trax runs its merchant side as Sonic: the portal is sonic.pk, the API key comes from there, and the tracking links go there too. The API is one of the better ones in Pakistan for money: every parcel Trax has paid answers a payments call with its payment id, and a POST to the invoice endpoint returns the full charge breakdown per parcel.
Statuses are free text, and Trax has habits. A "Re-Attempt" row echoes a request rather than reporting a visit; "Reason Validation" follows a failed visit and must not be counted as a second one; a replacement order prints "Replacement - Collected" when the swap succeeded and "Replacement - Delivered to Shipper" when it came back. ShipOps reads each phrase as a phrase, which is the only way "Not Delivered" never becomes a delivery.
This page is written from Trax's Sonic API document, which is old and internally inconsistent in places, corrected by what the live API actually answered: real trails, two whole payments captured and checked to the paisa.
What ShipOps does with Trax
| Live tracking | Yes. ShipOps finds your Trax parcels from the tracking numbers on your store's fulfilments and follows each one with Trax's API. |
|---|---|
| Retry / return instruction | Trax accepts a retry or return instruction only while a parcel is in its review window. ShipOps watches for that window and alarms it, so the instruction goes in while it can still change the outcome. |
| Booking and labels | Yes. Book from the order, print the label, cancel a booking. Services: Rush, Saver Plus, Swift. Label layouts: AWB label. |
| COD payouts | Automatic. ShipOps pulls each Trax receipt by its number and checks every parcel on it. How Trax pays COD, in detail → |
| What you type to connect | API key Then pick your pickup address. |
| Recognised as | trax · sonic · sonic.pk · trax courier · trax logistics Also by tracking link: slgtrax.com, sonic.pk, trax.com, trax.pk |
Connecting Trax
In the Sonic portal, click your company name, then Profile, then API Key. Paste it into ShipOps. Then pick the pickup address your bookings should run under; if the account has none yet, add one in Sonic and reconnect.
Trax parcels are found from the tracking numbers on your store's fulfilments and then followed on the Sonic API. A parcel booked from ShipOps is known from the moment it is booked. Nothing is written to your store until you switch a write-back on.
Advice on Trax runs through the review window: when a parcel reads "Return - Confirmation Pending" or "Shipper Advice", Trax is waiting for you. ShipOps shows retry and return there and files your answer on your account.
What Trax's statuses mean
12 phrases, read the way the app reads them| What Trax prints | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Booked · Pickup requested / scheduled · Ready for pickup | Booked | Booked, awaiting the rider. |
| Picked · Arrived at … · Dispatched · In transit · Out for delivery | In transit | Moving inside Trax's network. "Out for delivery" means with the rider today. |
| Delivery Unsuccessful — {reason} · Attempt … | Attempt failed | A failed visit; the reason follows the dash. Trax will retry on its own. Reach the customer first. |
| Reason Validation | Attempt failed | Trax confirming the reason for the last failed visit. The same visit, not a new attempt; ShipOps does not count it twice. |
| Re-Attempt · Re-Attempt Requested | In transit | An echo of a retry request, not a report of a visit. Nothing to do. |
| Return - Confirmation Pending · Shipper Advice · Under Review · On Hold | Needs your decision | Trax is waiting for your word. Say retry or return from the order in ShipOps before the parcel starts back. |
| Return - Confirm · Return - In Transit · RTO | Coming back | Coming back. Plan for the arrival. |
| Returned to Shipper · Returned | Returned to you | Back with you. Check it in so the order can be cancelled and restocked if that switch is on. |
| Replacement - Collected | Delivered | A replacement order: the new item delivered and the old one collected. Read as delivered. |
| Replacement - Delivered to Shipper | Returned to you | The collected item came back to you. A return-side phrase despite the word "delivered". |
| Delivered | Delivered | Done. The COD lands on the next Monday payment after delivery; the freight was charged on the first payment after Trax received the parcel. |
| Cancelled | Cancelled | Cancelled before pickup. |
Why a Trax delivery fails, as ShipOps names it
| Address problem | Non-service area · Address issue |
|---|---|
| Customer refused | Refused to accept |
| Customer not available | Consignee not available · Consignee out of city |
| Other | Order cancelled · Needs review |
| Phone problem | Phone not responding |
These are the reasons Trax gives on a failed visit, normalised to one label each so your team sees "Customer not available", never the raw string. The family decides what the Action Inbox suggests: an address problem asks the customer for a landmark, a phone problem tries WhatsApp, a refusal asks whether to return.
Questions merchants ask about Trax
Where do I find my Trax API key?
In the Sonic portal: click your company name, then Profile, then API Key. That key is all ShipOps needs; it is stored encrypted.
Why does ShipOps find Trax parcels from my store?
Trax's API tracks a parcel by number but does not list all your parcels, so ShipOps reads the tracking numbers from your store's fulfilments (and its own bookings) and follows each one on Sonic.
When can I tell Trax to retry or return?
While the parcel reads "Return - Confirmation Pending", "Shipper Advice", "Under Review" or "On Hold". ShipOps shows the buttons there and files your answer.
How does ShipOps handle Trax replacement orders?
"Replacement - Collected" is read as delivered (the swap happened); a later "Replacement - Delivered to Shipper" is the old item back with you, not a return of the order.
Can I book Trax parcels from ShipOps?
Yes, under the Sonic pickup address you choose, with labels and cancellation, on your own account.
