M&P “Return to Vendor/Return to Shipper”: what it means

15 Returned to you Also printed as RS-Return to Shipper

On M&P, 15 Return to Vendor/Return to Shipper means the return is complete: the parcel has been handed back to you. The note reads "The shipment has been returned at the shipper's address." On M&P's monthly report the same parcel reads RS-Return to Shipper. It is the last status on a returned parcel.

No COD comes for it. M&P's charges for it land on a later payment with nothing collected against them. M&P's monthly report still puts a date on it, but that is the date the return finished, not a delivery.

Open the parcel when it arrives and check the goods before restocking. ShipOps shows it as returned, keeps the reason from the last failed visit on the order, and shows what the return cost you.

What to do now

Your move Back with you. Check it in so the order can be cancelled and restocked if that switch is on.

How ShipOps reads it

Returned to you Back with you. The parcel is closed as returned. ShipOps checks the courier's payouts for the return charge, so a return billed twice or a return marked delivered on a receipt is caught.

ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All M&P statuses →
