Next Step “PICKED_UP”: what it means
In transit Also printed as ARRIVED_AT_ORIGIN
Next Step PICKED_UP means a Next Step rider has collected the parcel from you. From this moment the courier is responsible for it. ShipOps shows it as in transit.
It usually comes with ARRIVED_AT_ORIGIN, often at the same minute: collected, and scanned in at Next Step's hub in your city. Treat the two as one step. Sometimes one shows in one place and the other elsewhere; it is the same moment.
Next comes LEFT_FOR_DESTINATION for a parcel going to another city.

How ShipOps reads it
In transit Moving inside the courier's network. Nothing for you to do, so ShipOps keeps it out of your Action Inbox. It does watch the clock: a parcel still in transit five days on, never attempted, goes on the Stuck list, where the lever is an escalation to the courier.
ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All Next Step statuses →
