Leopards “Pending”: what it means
Attempt failed
On Leopards, Pending means a rider went to the customer and came back without delivering. It is Leopards' failed-visit status, usually with a reason beside it, such as "Consignee not available" or "Consignee refused". Leopards sends the parcel out again on its own; you do not need to ask.
The word misleads. Pending sounds like a parcel waiting in a queue, and a dashboard that reads it that way hides every failed visit. Most Pendings are followed by another Assigned to courier, the next try.
If the visits keep failing, Leopards moves the parcel to Ready for Return. A Pending after Return to Origin is different: the rider could not hand the return back to you, and these parcels end at Return To Sender, not a delivery. ShipOps puts a Pending on the way out in your inbox as a failed visit, and keeps one on the way back shown as returning.
What to do now
| Your move | The rider came back without delivering, and Leopards will try again on its own. ShipOps shows it as a failed visit so your team can call the customer. |
|---|---|
| The customer | Often the customer says nobody came or nobody called. Get a good time and a working number before the next visit. |
| Retry or return | Leopards takes a retry or return instruction only on a parcel it has opened a ticket for. ShipOps keeps an eye on those tickets and puts the buttons on exactly those parcels. |

How ShipOps reads it
Attempt failed A delivery failed, the courier still has it. The parcel goes into the Action Inbox with the courier's reason in plain words. The useful move is to reach the customer before the next attempt; ShipOps puts the call and WhatsApp buttons on the row and counts the attempts made so far.
ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All Leopards statuses →
The same state on other couriers
