Leopards “Ready for Return”: what it means

Needs your decision Also printed as Ready for Return in {city}

On Leopards, Ready for Return means delivery has failed and the parcel is parked at the customer's city station, about to be sent back to you unless you say otherwise. It reads Ready for Return in {city} with the reason, for example "CONSIGNEE REFUSED". It is your last chance to ask for another try.

Leopards opens a request asking you to retry or return, and you can only answer while it is open. It often comes straight after a Pending, and then it is the same failed visit recorded twice, not a second knock.

It does not mean the parcel is already coming back. That starts at Return to Origin in {city}. ShipOps puts these parcels in your inbox with retry and return buttons, and sends your answer to Leopards.

What to do now

Your move The last stop before the parcel comes back. Leopards is asking you to choose: retry (with a corrected address if that was the problem) or return. Answer from the order in ShipOps.
The customer Call before you answer. A customer who still wants the parcel and gives a time is a retry; a refusal is a return.
Retry or return Leopards takes a retry or return instruction only on a parcel it has opened a ticket for. ShipOps keeps an eye on those tickets and puts the buttons on exactly those parcels.

How ShipOps reads it

Needs your decision The courier is waiting for your decision. This is the window where an instruction still changes the outcome. ShipOps raises the parcel to the top of the Action Inbox, and where the courier lets ShipOps send a retry or return, the buttons on the row file it with the courier directly.

ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All Leopards statuses →
