Next Step “COURIER_SETTLED”: what it means
Delivered
Next Step COURIER_SETTLED means the rider has handed the COD cash for a delivered parcel in to Next Step. It is not a payment to you. The money has moved from the rider's pocket to Next Step's branch, and Next Step still has to pay you.
The name is the trap. Many parcels carry COURIER_SETTLED well before Next Step pays the merchant, and some for weeks. Reading it as paid would show money in your bank that is still with the courier.
ShipOps shows the parcel as delivered, from the DELIVERED before it, with the note "cash with Next Step". Your payout is the separate settlement Next Step records with a transaction number, which ShipOps checks for you.
What to do now
| Your move | The rider's cash was handed in at the branch. Not your payout. ShipOps shows it as "Delivered · cash with Next Step" until Next Step settles it to you. |

How ShipOps reads it
Delivered Handed to the customer. Delivered is where the money question starts. ShipOps writes the delivery back to your store, then watches the courier's payouts for this parcel's COD and raises it if it is not paid within the courier's usual cycle.
ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All Next Step statuses →
