Shipnoc “HOLD FOR SELF COLLECTION”: what it means

Needs your decision

Shipnoc HOLD FOR SELF COLLECTION means the parcel is being kept at Shipnoc's office for the customer to pick up, instead of being delivered to the door. Until someone collects it or it is sent out again, it waits.

It is rare, and it is not the end of the road: a parcel held like this can still be sent out and delivered a couple of days later.

ShipOps shows it as "held for customer pickup". The next move is yours: tell the customer where the parcel is, or ask your Shipnoc contact to send it out.

What to do now

Your move Kept at Shipnoc's office for the customer to collect. Tell the customer where to go.
The customer The customer may not know the parcel is waiting at an office. Send them the location and the tracking number.
Retry or return Shipnoc does not take a retry or return instruction from outside its own portal, so the answer goes in by hand; ShipOps still shows the parcel with its reason and links you there.

How ShipOps reads it

Needs your decision The courier is waiting for your decision. This is the window where an instruction still changes the outcome. ShipOps raises the parcel to the top of the Action Inbox, and where the courier lets ShipOps send a retry or return, the buttons on the row file it with the courier directly.

ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All Shipnoc statuses →
