TCS “Address Closed”: what it means
CA Needs your decision
TCS CA Address Closed means the rider reached the address and could not deliver because the place was closed. TCS treats it as an address problem, not a missed visit, so it stops the parcel and waits for your instruction instead of trying again.
It reads almost the same as Recipient Premises Closed, and the difference matters. With RC, TCS tries again by itself. With CA, the parcel does not move until you answer.
TCS often does not count a delivery attempt for it, so don't wait to see an attempt before acting. Ask the customer when the place is open and send the retry with that time in the remarks.
What to do now
| Your move | Find out when the address is open and send a retry with the time in the remarks. TCS is waiting for your instruction. |
|---|---|
| Retry or return | TCS takes a retry or return instruction only while the parcel is in its review window. ShipOps raises the parcel when that window opens and files the instruction from the order. |
| Attempts | TCS tries 3 times before it starts a return. |

How ShipOps reads it
Needs your decision The courier is waiting for your decision. This is the window where an instruction still changes the outcome. ShipOps raises the parcel to the top of the Action Inbox, and where the courier lets ShipOps send a retry or return, the buttons on the row file it with the courier directly.
ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All TCS statuses →
The same state on other couriers
