TCS “Lost shipment”: what it means
LS Needs your decision
TCS LS Lost shipment means TCS has declared the parcel lost somewhere in its own network. It will not be delivered, and it will not come back to you.
This is a claim, not a retry. Nothing the customer says and no new address will move it. Raise it with TCS in writing, with the tracking number and the order value, and keep the order open in your store until TCS answers.
ShipOps groups LS with the other statuses where the parcel itself is the problem, DM Shipment Damaged, PI Prohibited Item and AB Abandon Shipments. The question there is compensation, not delivery, so ShipOps does not message the customer. Tell the customer yourself, and offer a replacement if you plan to send one.
What to do now
| Your move | TCS has lost it. Raise a claim with TCS in writing with the tracking number; a retry will not help. |
|---|---|
| Retry or return | TCS takes a retry or return instruction only while the parcel is in its review window. ShipOps raises the parcel when that window opens and files the instruction from the order. |
| Attempts | TCS tries 3 times before it starts a return. |

How ShipOps reads it
Needs your decision The courier is waiting for your decision. This is the window where an instruction still changes the outcome. ShipOps raises the parcel to the top of the Action Inbox, and where the courier lets ShipOps send a retry or return, the buttons on the row file it with the courier directly.
ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All TCS statuses →
