TCS “OUT OF SERVICE AREA”: what it means
OS Needs your decision Also printed as Out of delivery Area
TCS OS OUT OF SERVICE AREA means TCS does not deliver to the address on the parcel. NS Out of delivery Area means the same. TCS waits for your instruction.
This is about where the address is, not about the visit, so a retry to the same address gets the same answer. Your real options are a new address inside TCS's coverage, a counter pickup at the nearest TCS office, or a return.
If you keep seeing it for one town, book those orders with a courier that covers it. ShipOps shows OS and NS with the address problems, next to the other fixes your team can make.
What to do now
| Your move | A retry to the same address will fail again. Send a new address in TCS's coverage, a counter pickup, or a return. |
|---|---|
| Retry or return | TCS takes a retry or return instruction only while the parcel is in its review window. ShipOps raises the parcel when that window opens and files the instruction from the order. |
| Attempts | TCS tries 3 times before it starts a return. |

How ShipOps reads it
Needs your decision The courier is waiting for your decision. This is the window where an instruction still changes the outcome. ShipOps raises the parcel to the top of the Action Inbox, and where the courier lets ShipOps send a retry or return, the buttons on the row file it with the courier directly.
ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All TCS statuses →
The same state on other couriers
