TCS “Returned To TCS Origin”: what it means

RO Coming back Also printed as Returned To Origin · Shipment Returned To Origin

TCS RO Returned To TCS Origin means the return has started: TCS is sending the parcel back to the office that picked it up. It is not with you yet. TCS also shortens it to Returned To Origin, which is why merchants often think the parcel is already back.

Returned To Sender usually follows within a day. In between you will see the return trip's own arrival and departure scans, and an Out For Delivery that is the rider bringing the parcel to you.

Once RO appears, it is too late for a retry; the parcel is on its way back. ShipOps shows it as returning until Returned To Sender. The return charges go on your TCS account and come off a later payout through the carried-forward balance.

What to do now

Your move Coming back. Plan for the return and decide whether to rebook.
How long it usually lasts Usually within a day, sometimes sooner. Returned To Sender follows once the parcel reaches you.

How ShipOps reads it

Coming back On its way back to you. The return is committed, so ShipOps stops suggesting retries and moves the parcel to the returns list. When it lands, checking it in records that you have the goods back, and the return charge is counted against the order.

ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All TCS statuses →
