InstaWorld “Return In-Transit”: what it means

Coming back

InstaWorld "Return In-Transit" means the parcel is moving back toward you after a failed delivery. It is the most common status on the way back.

It follows Return to Origin. Plain In Transit updates sometimes appear after it; they are the same return moving, not the parcel going back to the customer. The last steps are Return - Out for delivery and Returned to Shipper.

ShipOps shows it as returning, and keeps showing it as returning through any plain transit updates that follow.

How ShipOps reads it

Coming back On its way back to you. The return is committed, so ShipOps stops suggesting retries and moves the parcel to the returns list. When it lands, checking it in records that you have the goods back, and the return charge is counted against the order.

ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All InstaWorld statuses →
