PostEx “Enroute for Delivery”: what it means
0004 In transit Also printed as Delivery En-Route · Package on Root
PostEx 0004 Enroute for Delivery means a rider has the parcel and is out to deliver it today. The next status is either 0005 Delivered to Customer or 0013 Attempt Made with a reason.
You may also see this as Package on Root or Delivery En-Route. They mean the same thing. A parcel can show 0004 more than once: every new delivery try starts with a fresh 0004. That includes after 0040 Return Process Initiated, which is how a parcel that looked like a return still gets delivered.
If you message customers, this is when it helps most: the rider is on the way and the customer can still be reached. ShipOps shows 0004 as In transit. If this is a second try, ShipOps keeps the reason from the last failed attempt on the order, so you can see why it went out again.
What to do now
| Your move | Out with the rider today. A good moment to remind the customer to keep the phone on and the cash ready. |
|---|---|
| The customer | The customer may ask what time the rider will come. PostEx does not give a time, so do not promise one. |
How ShipOps reads it
In transit Moving inside the courier's network. Nothing for you to do, so ShipOps keeps it out of your Action Inbox. It does watch the clock: a parcel still in transit five days on, never attempted, goes on the Stuck list, where the lever is an escalation to the courier.
ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All PostEx statuses →
