PostEx “Return to {city}”: what it means

0037 Coming back

PostEx 0037 Return to {city}, for example Return to Lahore, means the parcel is on its way back toward your city after the delivery failed. This is the point of no return. Once you see it, PostEx will not try the customer again.

It usually follows 0040 Return Process Initiated and comes before 0039 Waiting for Return and 0032 En Route to Merchant Warehouse. On the way you may see 0035 Arrived at Transit Hub, and the portal may still say En-Route to Lahore warehouse. Both look like progress toward the customer. They are the trip back to you.

From here ShipOps shows the parcel as Coming back, whatever comes next, and keeps the reason from the last failed attempt so you can see why. The cost starts here too: a PostEx return appears on a CPR with charges and nothing collected.

What to do now

Your move The return is now certain. PostEx will not try the customer again. Plan for the parcel to come back and decide whether to rebook.
The customer If the customer now says they want the order after all, it needs a new booking. PostEx will not turn this parcel around.

How ShipOps reads it

Coming back On its way back to you. The return is committed, so ShipOps stops suggesting retries and moves the parcel to the returns list. When it lands, checking it in records that you have the goods back, and the return charge is counted against the order.

ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All PostEx statuses →
