Shipnoc “ON HOLD”: what it means

Needs your decision

Shipnoc ON HOLD means Shipnoc is keeping the parcel in the customer's city instead of delivering it. It usually follows a failed visit, often a refusal, and repeats daily while the parcel waits. Sometimes nothing comes before it.

The hold is a window, and it can go either way: some held parcels are delivered, about as many come back. A refusal, a few days of ON HOLD, then READY FOR RTN is a common pattern.

ShipOps keeps the parcel in your Action Inbox with the reason from the visit before it. Shipnoc takes your answer, try again or return, only through your Shipnoc contact.

What to do now

Your move Shipnoc is keeping the parcel in the customer's city. Tell your Shipnoc contact what to do, and reach the customer.
The customer If the customer still wants the parcel, they need to say so now. After a few days on hold it goes back.
Retry or return Shipnoc does not take a retry or return instruction from outside its own portal, so the answer goes in by hand; ShipOps still shows the parcel with its reason and links you there.

How ShipOps reads it

Needs your decision The courier is waiting for your decision. This is the window where an instruction still changes the outcome. ShipOps raises the parcel to the top of the Action Inbox, and where the courier lets ShipOps send a retry or return, the buttons on the row file it with the courier directly.

ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All Shipnoc statuses →
