TCS “Address Information Needed”: what it means

Needs your decision Also printed as Need Further Consignee Information

TCS Address Information Needed means TCS cannot deliver with what is on the parcel and is asking for more detail about the address or the receiver. TCS also calls it Need Further Consignee Information. On tracking it usually appears as plain text with no code.

Because it carries no code, it is easy to read past on the TCS tracking page. ShipOps puts it in Needs attention as an address problem, so it does not slip by.

Treat it like Incomplete Address: get the missing detail from the customer and send it with a Fix address retry. It is not a refusal and not a dead number. TCS is asking you a question, and the parcel waits until you answer.

What to do now

Your move TCS is asking for detail. Get the full address and a landmark from the customer and send it with a Fix address retry.
Retry or return TCS takes a retry or return instruction only while the parcel is in its review window. ShipOps raises the parcel when that window opens and files the instruction from the order.
Attempts TCS tries 3 times before it starts a return.

How ShipOps reads it

Needs your decision The courier is waiting for your decision. This is the window where an instruction still changes the outcome. ShipOps raises the parcel to the top of the Action Inbox, and where the courier lets ShipOps send a retry or return, the buttons on the row file it with the courier directly.

ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All TCS statuses →
