Trax “Reason Validation Required”: what it means

Attempt failed Also printed as Shipment - Reason Validation Required

Trax "Reason Validation Required" means Trax is checking the reason its rider gave for a failed delivery. It is not a new visit. The parcel failed once, and Trax is confirming why before it asks you what to do.

It usually follows Delivery Unsuccessful with the same reason. Sometimes it appears without one before it; then it is the only record of that visit. Next is usually Shipper Advise Requested.

The common mistake is counting it as a second attempt, which makes a parcel look twice as hard to deliver as it is. ShipOps counts the pair as one failed visit.

What to do now

Your move Trax checking the reason for the last failed visit. Same visit, not a new attempt.
Retry or return Trax takes a retry or return instruction only while the parcel is in its review window. ShipOps raises the parcel when that window opens and files the instruction from the order.

How ShipOps reads it

Attempt failed A delivery failed, the courier still has it. The parcel goes into the Action Inbox with the courier's reason in plain words. The useful move is to reach the customer before the next attempt; ShipOps puts the call and WhatsApp buttons on the row and counts the attempts made so far.

ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All Trax statuses →
