PostEx “Merchant Request For Return”: what it means
0008 Coming back Also printed as Merchant Request for Return
PostEx 0008 Merchant Request For Return is your own return instruction showing up on the parcel. While it was at 0008 Delivery Under Review, someone on your side told PostEx to send it back. The code is still 0008, but the review window is closed.
Next you usually see Return Process Initiated, then the return steps: 0037 Return to {city}, 0039 Waiting for Return, 0032 En Route to Merchant Warehouse and finally 0006 Returned at Merchant Warehouse.
Because the code is the same as Delivery Under Review, it is easy to think PostEx is still waiting for your answer. It is not. ShipOps shows the parcel as Coming back. If PostEx does send it out again anyway, ShipOps moves it back to in transit.
What to do now

How ShipOps reads it
Coming back On its way back to you. The return is committed, so ShipOps stops suggesting retries and moves the parcel to the returns list. When it lands, checking it in records that you have the goods back, and the return charge is counted against the order.
