M&P “Re-Attempt Advice”: what it means

9 In transit

On M&P, 9 Re-Attempt Advice means M&P has recorded your retry for a held parcel and will send it out again. The note reads "Shipment is planned for re-attempt on next working day on shipper's advice." It is entered by M&P's call centre, not scanned by a rider.

Because it is entered separately, it can appear after 10 Delivered on the tracking page. If a parcel shows Delivered, it is delivered, even with a Re-Attempt Advice line after it. ShipOps shows it as delivered.

A retry is a request, not a promise. M&P sometimes goes straight from here to 16 Failed Delivered with no second visit. If a retried parcel has not shown 6 Out-for-Delivery after a working day, ask M&P.

What to do now

Your move M&P has accepted your retry and will send the parcel out again. Nothing more to do.

How ShipOps reads it

In transit Moving inside the courier's network. Nothing for you to do, so ShipOps keeps it out of your Action Inbox. It does watch the clock: a parcel still in transit five days on, never attempted, goes on the Stuck list, where the lever is an escalation to the courier.

ShipOps shows every courier's parcels in the same few plain states, so your team learns one set of words instead of one per courier. All M&P statuses →
