How Run Courier pays your COD, and how to check it
Run Courier's API tells ShipOps, per parcel, whether its COD has been Paid or is Pending; it does not list payouts or print a receipt. ShipOps marks what the courier attests and reads the payout statement you drop in for the amounts, so every delivered parcel is on a receipt, attested paid, or on your "courier owes you" list.
When Run Courier pays
Run Courier pays delivered COD on a payout statement from its finance side and flips the parcel's payment flag to Paid. No cycle is exposed through the API. After two or three statements ShipOps learns your rhythm and forecasts the next payout.
What the Run Courier payout receipt contains
The payout statement lists one row per parcel with COD collected, charges, tax and net. ShipOps profiles the columns on first read, checks every row (net equals the sum of its components), remembers the layout for your account, and projects the lines onto your orders.
The API's Paid flag is shown as "courier says paid" until a statement line confirms the amount. A Paid flag on a returned parcel is shown with a warning: it is the courier attesting a settlement, and a returned parcel should settle charges, not COD.
Where the money goes wrong
These are the discrepancies ShipOps finds on Run Courier receipts, in the order they usually cost the most:
- Delivered, Pending for weeks, on no statement.
- Paid by the flag, absent from the statements you hold.
- Short collected on a statement row against the order's COD.
- A returned parcel flagged Paid with no charges line to explain it.
What ShipOps does with a Run Courier payout
Automatic · statement uploadShipOps asks Run Courier per delivered parcel whether it was paid and marks the attestation. Drop the payout statement into the Money screen and the lines are checked, matched and filed as a receipt; uploading is never charged. The Money screen shows what reached the bank, what Run Courier still owes, and what it says it paid that your statements do not yet show.
Run Courier's API carries a Paid or Pending flag per parcel and nothing else about money: no amount, no date, no receipt. ShipOps shows the flag as the courier's word and takes the amounts from your uploaded statement.
"Courier owes you" for Run Courier is as current as the flag and your last upload; a payment made yesterday shows once the flag flips or the statement arrives.
