How DigiDokaan pays your COD, and how to check it
DigiDokaan pays COD in settlements, each with a cheque date. Its API does not list a settlement's parcels or print a total; it answers, one parcel at a time, which settlement that parcel's COD was paid on and the figures behind it. ShipOps asks for every delivered parcel and rebuilds each settlement into a receipt, and your DigiDokaan export can be dropped in beside it.
When DigiDokaan pays
A delivered parcel is paid on a DigiDokaan settlement identified by its cheque date. Until then the payment call for that parcel answers an HTTP 500, which on DigiDokaan is not an error but the only answer an unsettled parcel ever gets. ShipOps reads it as "no payout on record" and asks again later.
DigiDokaan does not publish a payout day. ShipOps learns the rhythm from your settlements and forecasts the next one.
What the DigiDokaan payout receipt contains
Per parcel, DigiDokaan gives: the COD net of the delivery charge, the delivery charge itself, two taxes of 2% each, the paid amount (floored to the rupee), and the settlement's cheque date. Nothing lists a settlement's parcels and nothing prints its total, so the receipt ShipOps files is rebuilt: one receipt per cheque date, named DD-SET-…, containing every parcel that named that date.
A rebuilt receipt is marked as built from parcels, so the Money screen is honest about where its total came from: the sum of what DigiDokaan said per parcel, not a figure DigiDokaan printed.
DigiDokaan's portal also exports an all-orders sheet. ShipOps has a column layout for it, so you can drop the export in and every row is checked (net equals the sum of its components) and projected onto the same ledger. The upload stays beside the automatic read on purpose: a parcel the API has not answered yet may already be on your export.
Where the money goes wrong
These are the discrepancies ShipOps finds on DigiDokaan receipts, in the order they usually cost the most:
- Delivered, still answering 500. The trail says Delivered, weeks have passed, and DigiDokaan's payment call still has no settlement for the parcel. Unpaid.
- Paid amount floored below the arithmetic. COD net of delivery, minus the two taxes, floored to the rupee. Small per parcel, visible across a month.
- A return charged as a delivery. A "Return - Delivered to Shipper" parcel marked delivered somewhere upstream and expected to be paid; it never will be, and the delivery charge is the RTO cost.
- The gateway courier's charge differs from DigiDokaan's. The delivery charge DigiDokaan quotes at booking and the one on the settlement line are not always the same; the line wins.
- A settlement that rebuilds differently. If a parcel ShipOps already filed as paid starts answering 500 again, ShipOps refuses to un-pay it on a rebuild and flags the receipt for your eyes instead.
What ShipOps does with a DigiDokaan payout
Automatic · statement uploadShipOps asks DigiDokaan per delivered parcel which settlement paid it, groups the answers by cheque date, and files one rebuilt receipt per date. Figures are converted to paisa at the edge. A parcel already on a filed settlement is never removed by a later rebuild that cannot see it.
Drop in DigiDokaan's all-orders export and ShipOps reads it by its known layout, checks every row, and reconciles it onto the same orders. The Money screen shows what reached the bank, what DigiDokaan still owes, and what is at risk, with the two 2% taxes itemised.
DigiDokaan prints no settlement total, so a rebuilt receipt's total is the sum of its parcels, labelled as such.
A parcel DigiDokaan has never answered for (no fulfilment, no booking in ShipOps) is not asked about; it needs to be in your store or booked from ShipOps first.
Questions merchants ask about DigiDokaan payments
When does DigiDokaan pay COD?
In settlements identified by a cheque date. No fixed day is published; ShipOps learns the rhythm from your settlements. An unpaid parcel answers HTTP 500 on DigiDokaan's payment call until it is settled.
Why does ShipOps say a DigiDokaan receipt was built from parcels?
Because DigiDokaan's API gives per-parcel answers and never a settlement total or a parcel list. ShipOps groups the answers by cheque date and labels the result honestly.
What are the two 2% taxes on a DigiDokaan line?
Withholding tax and sales tax on the COD, 2% each, deducted before the paid amount. Reclaimable; itemised in ShipOps.
Should I still upload my DigiDokaan export?
Yes, when you have it. A parcel the API has not answered yet may be on your export, and the upload is read by a known column layout and reconciled onto the same ledger. Uploading is never charged.
Which courier actually carried my DigiDokaan parcel?
The gateway you booked it through: Leopard by default, or the gateway number DigiDokaan approved for you. The trail's scans are that courier's; ShipOps shows the carrier on the booking.
